About Us

We are a community of followers of Jesus Christ committed to Live by Faith, to be Known by Love, and to be a Voice of Hope.  We welcome people from all walks of life regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.  Our community is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational reflection of our city.  Our celebration of diversity and creativity provides a welcoming place to belong for everyone.

Lead Pastors:

Luis and Kirsten began their journey as Lead Pastors of Northeast Assembly in October of 2006.  Their heart for Philadelphia led them to the diverse northeast part of the city.  They have a passion to see people discover the possibilities of a life in Jesus Christ.  Their skills focus on developing a healthy church environment where people can meet God, be equipped for life, and experience a life of love and service to our world.

Rev. Luis Torrado, Lead Pastor

Luis, born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, moved to live with his family in Buffalo, New York when just a teenager. Fluent in two languages, he's known what it is to be born into one culture and and to find his way in another.   Pastoring a diverse community, he has a heart to see individuals reaching their  fullest potential.

Luis has a passion for seeing individuals discipled in their faith, as you can hear through his weekly messages which ooze challenges of the heart and are loaded with tools of practicality.  His preaching is a main mode of discipleship and training for the community at Northeast Assembly.  His heart remains for our city as his messages also mobilize us for reaching our neighborhood and inviting our friends to a life that is full of possibilities  in Jesus Christ.

Rev. Kirsten Torrado, Co-Pastor

Kirsten's heart is to see people lost in worship of an incredible God.  She facilitates worship weekly and Pastors the worship and creative arts ministry at Northeast.  She also leads the SHE Community, a ministry to the women of Philadelphia, centered around womens' needs to be safe, healthy, and empowered.

Her preaching and worship display a hunger for God's power and a desire to see individuals free to fulfill their potential and acting as a hand of love extended to their world.
